volunteers make a difference
Each year, over 800 Edgewood volunteers help us bring hope to the lives of Bay Area children and families. If you want to make a difference, there are many ways to get involved.
how to become a volunteer
Short-term volunteers can help out with a number of projects including Breakfast Club, gardening, cultural celebrations, holiday parties, fundraising events, etc.
Long-term volunteers must complete the volunteer application process which includes:
- an interview
- reference checks
- fingerprint/background check
- TB test
- a one-time orientation
For the benefit of both the volunteers and the kids, we ask for a minimum six-month commitment. We look for volunteers that can be strong positive role models, and can connect with children who have emotional and behavioral issues.
All volunteers must be 18 or older.
