On Tuesday, June 24, Edgewood staff and supporters arrived at San Francisco City Hall to thank Mayor Gavin Newsom and supportive Supervisors. Officials included funding for Edgewood's residential treatment program in the City's budget. Thank you cards created by Edgewood children and staff were presented to San Francisco officials who made it possible for Edgewood's historic program to continue to serve San Francisco children for another year. Edgewood CEO Nancy Rubin, Supervisors Maxwell and Chu and dance company ODC's co-artistic director spoke at the event.

When modern dance company ODC heard about the budget crisis, they offered to stage a performance of "The Velveteen Rabbit," benefiting Edgewood. Ticket sales could raise up to $100,000 for Edgewood. Nancy Rubin joined by ODC's Velveteen Rabbit and ODC Co-Artistic Director KT Nelson.
